Japonisme
Wood, Meet Paper
Japonisme is the study of Japanese art and style, typically used to refer to its influence on European art, impressionism in particular. It is commonly thought of as a predecessor to art nouveau.
Inspired by the delicate paper and wood balance of shōji (room dividers) and the organic whiplash curves art nouveau is so known for, these handmade lamps are a functional piece of art meant for modern living spaces.
